Why was Galileo tried for heresy, Bruno burned, while nothing happpened to Copernicus?

Copernicus waited until he knew he was going to die before he published. He was a Catholic priest, and the protestant Reformation had already started when Martin Luther pinned his 99 theses to a cathedral door in Berlin. Copernicus was dean and buried in sacred ground before the Catholic Church got around to banning and burning his work, The Church NEVER DID finish banning De Coelestium Revolutionibus.
